Im driving home with my new motor (THANX SAWN aka FANTAZ) when i hit stop and go traffic. Im in the left lane and i reach this point where theres a cop in the left lane cause there was a broken down car. So I proceed to merge into the lane to my right but before i do...... He walks up to my car and bangs on my roof with his flashlight and tells me to pull over. At this point im stumped. I didnt get it. I ask him why he pulled me over and he said that i was wrecklessly driving and i failed to yeild and im gonna get 2 tickets. So i wait in my car for a good 20 min. He comes back with "4" tickets. Now get this.......
--- "failure to reduce speed". Reduce speed????? I couldnt pass 10 MPH if i wanted to due to the traffic. Any slower id be pushing my car to merge.
--- "No Valid insurance". My insurance peice of paper was a bit shrouded so i get another one tomorrow and mail that in. No problem there
--- "Failure to yeild to police vehicle". I was in the midst of merging to the lane so that i can go around him just like the guy in front of me as well as the person behind me doing a good 5-10 MPH with my blinker on.
--- GET THIS "Failure to yeild to PEDESTRIAN" What the hell????? A pedestrian on the highway? Who the hell walks on the highway that i would need to yield to? let alone yeilds to one? There are no pedestrians there.
This cop was a real assh*le that had nothing to do and wanted to meet his quota early and took it out on me. Now i need to go to court to dispute this. Now i spoke to 96 2+2TT (NYC) and he was in the same pridicimate. He got a ticket for no front plate, 50 in a 30 and expired inspection. He went to pleat not guilty and was givent the option to either A: remove the plate and the inspection and reduce the speeding to a stop sign or go to court and fight it. HE chose to go to court and fight it, however, its been over a year and hes still waiting for his court date. So im gonna assume its about 2 years to appear.
Now what would u do? Would u take the reductions or would u wait about 2-3 years to get the court date? Whats ur take on this situation?
